Families at Rivermark will soon have access to another exciting community amenity, with Casa Mia Montessori Community School securing land within the estate for a future purpose-built campus.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for both Rivermark and Casa Mia Montessori School, which has been nurturing young minds in Perth's north-eastern suburbs for more than 25 years.
The school's future campus will provide local families with access to a highly regarded Montessori education close to home, while further strengthening Rivermark's vision of creating a connected, family-focused community.
A Shared Vision for Learning and Nature
For Casa Mia Principal Samantha Leyton, finding the right long-term home for the school was about more than simply securing land.
"We were drawn to the Rivermark site as it offered Casa Mia a permanent home in a community that shares our deep commitment to nature and the environment," Samantha said.
The new campus is planned to be designed around Montessori principles, incorporating flexible learning spaces, natural play areas and a living learning landscape that encourages curiosity, independence and connection with the natural world.
The school's philosophy aligns closely with Rivermark's own commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship and creating places where families can thrive.
A Permanent Home for a Growing School Community
Established in 1999 by a small group of homeschooling families, Casa Mia Montessori School has grown steadily over the past two decades and today educates 73 students, with demand continuing to increase.
The move to Rivermark represents an exciting new chapter, giving the school the opportunity to create a purpose-built campus designed specifically to support its educational approach.
The first stage of development is anticipated to open in 2028, subject to approvals and will cater for children aged 3 to 12 years.
Future stages will be delivered as demand grows, with the long-term vision accommodating approximately 150 students.
The purchase of land also places Casa Mia among a small number of Montessori schools across Australia that own and are developing dedicated campuses.
Building a Complete Community
The arrival of Casa Mia Montessori School reflects Rivermark's ongoing focus on delivering more than just homes.
Hesperia Residential Director Grant Shepherd said community infrastructure has always been a key part of Rivermark's long-term vision.
"Our goal for Rivermark has always been to create an environment that delivers genuine long-term value for the families who live here. Securing a school with Casa Mia's reputation and long-term commitment to this site is a meaningful step towards that vision," he said.
As Rivermark continues to grow, future residents will benefit from access to quality education, expansive parklands, walking trails and the natural beauty of the Swan River, all within a thoughtfully planned community.
Looking Ahead
The addition of Casa Mia Montessori School comes as Rivermark continues its evolution into one of Perth's most exciting new communities.
With future stages planned and development progressing towards the banks of the Swan River, the school will become an important part of Rivermark's story – supporting families, fostering learning and helping create a vibrant community for generations to come.
We look forward to welcoming Casa Mia Montessori School to Rivermark and sharing further updates as plans for the future campus progress.
